"We were drawn to Florence for its incredible architecture and beautiful streetscape. The grand, towering doorways, rich wooden tones, and timeless character felt perfectly aligned with the collection. There was also a vibrant energy throughout the city, with so many young people living there temporarily, exploring, creating, and embracing new experiences. That sense of movement, possibility, and spontaneity became an important backdrop for the campaign."
Sliding Doors is inspired by those fleeting moments in life where a single decision can completely alter your path. The collection takes its name from the 1998 Gwyneth Paltrow film, which explores the idea of parallel lives shaped by split-second choices.
For the campaign, we reimagined the iconic scene where her bag is stolen — in our version, the Ance Gria girl gets it back. Rather than allowing a small setback to dictate her next move, she continues forward with confidence. It's a story of empowerment, resilience, and strength — a reminder that while life is shaped by unexpected moments, we always have the power to choose how we respond.
Absolutely. We were particularly inspired by the city's grand door frames and intricate keyholes, which directly influenced the keyhole cut-outs featured throughout the collection. We were also drawn to the fluid yet striking lines of the wrought iron fencing seen throughout the city — that balance of soft curves and sharp points felt both elegant and powerful, and became a reference point for the silk trim detailing on several of the gowns. The Octavia gown perhaps embodies this most clearly, there's a strength and sense of empowerment in its silhouette and finish that directly reflects what Florence gave us.
This campaign was definitely a lot more chaotic than our previous one out in the wilderness. We somehow managed to schedule the shoot on a bank holiday, so Florence was absolutely packed — the streets were so busy we could hardly move, and everywhere we went people were stopping to watch and film. We had people constantly walking into frame, every shot took longer than expected, and we had to stay flexible and work with what the city was giving us in the moment. But honestly, that's also what made it so magical. There was this incredible energy everywhere — the buzz of the streets, the unexpected moments happening all around us. The campaign became less about perfection and more about capturing a feeling, which felt very aligned with Sliding Doors.
The Elizabeths, without a doubt. They're so versatile and fun — I love the neckline, I love how effortlessly sexy they are, and they're already a staple in my Europe summer wardrobe.
